Procedural Writing: How to make a chocolate Hedgehog slice

Room 11 has been learning about Procedural Writing. To make things more engaging, we agreed to 'make something' then write the procedure for making it. So, we made Miss Tupou's infamous chocolate hedgehog slice. We worked in groups, all hands in and successfully made our desserts. Rating from Mr Herlihy and other teacher's ranged from 8.5+ out of 10.

The Girl and the Fox.

Term 2, Week 1: The Girl and The Fox.

For our Writing this week, Room 11 watched a short story film called 'The Girl and the Fox'. Our learning intention was to "Identify the main events in the film". After listing down the main events (8 in total), we chose 3-4 of the events to write a 'rich descriptive' short narrative on.

GTS Culture Festival 2K17

On Thursday 30th March - Glen Taylor School broke it down on stage performing cultural dances and songs for family and friends. We had 8 different groups ranging from MAORI, MON (BURMESE), HAWAIIAN, ZUMBA, SAMOAN, TONGAN, COOK ISLAND, FIJIAN AND KAPA HAKA.

Guess who that baby is?

An ice-breaker we used in our class was the game "Guess who that baby is?" - fun activity to play with the class early in the year :)...enjoy!

River Talk

On Thursday Glen Taylor school walked down to Elstree River to see a special event. There were a lot of schools there from GI. There were people who travelled from over seas and other countries to help promote the importance of protecting the river. The drummers from Te Oro came to play the drums too and we had other performers from the islands. We watched a few performances that were really interesting too.
